Are all the twinks in Grindr getting you down? What you need is a location-based tool to help you find bears in your area. Now there’s an app for that called Scruff.

While Scruff shares many of the features of Grindr, it adds quite a few new ones that match the bear lifestyle better. Like you can send a “WOOF” to a new friend or see if you are compatible without even having to strike up a conversation. The author of this fuzz finder, Eric Silverberg, has definitely put some thought into this ursine app. One feature we especially liked is the ability to search in cities other than where you are currently at. This will help all the road warriors out there to find buddies before they even get into town. As with many apps, this one isn’t perfect. Chat messages aren’t exactly instant. If you’re having a hot and heavy exchange with some guy on the other side of the planet you might need to hit the reload button. But it sure beats having to sift through the hairless boys in search of some real men. Now you can catch all the furry goodness at a glance and get some Scruff!
